The iphone is remarkably durable, considering how elegant it feels in your hand. But as others have commented, it really depends where an iphone is dropped that determines whether or not you end up with a $600 brick.

In my case, the *one* time I took my iPhone out of the Incase case I bought for it (which as bkeene correctly described, is a piece of crap, but definitely protects it against droppage), it accidentally slipped out of my hand and landed on its back glass side up. A few minutes later, I noticed my WiFi signal get gradually weaker, and in about 5 minutes, the phone was completely bricked--no wifi signal, no EDGE and the phone actually popped up an error message saying, in essence, that my phone is in fact, bricked and could no longer make calls. This from a modest fall of around 12 inches above a ceramic tiled floor.

Thankfully there was no visible damage to the unit, so I took it into my local Genius Bar, played dumb (often referring to my self-hacked WRT54 wireless router as "my wireless thingy"), and recieved a new replacement unit a few days later.

It absolutely freaks me out to think what would happen if the glass broke or something. After the first year of ownership, Applecare is worth buying for laptops and ipods, but it really sucks that they don't protect you against accidental damage, considering how much they charge you for Applecare. So I'm on the "iPhone insurance is worth it" side of the fence.

USAA, my renter's insurance provider, covers accidental loss or damage to personal property, and specifically computer gear. YMMV with your provider.

It's been a week that's bordered on something time-travel-esque this past seven days, with the future being printed out for us all to see.

Not literally printed out ? we're not talking the kind of book that Marty McFly spent far too long knobbing about with when he could have just destroyed the sodding thing a thousand times over; no, we're talking about companies telling us what's actually going on.

Smearing the Galaxy

We've been treated to that rarest of all rare beasts this week: a company confirming that something isn't going to happen. Usually it's a smorgasbord of 'no comment' and something about rumour and speculation, but this time Samsung has huffed, sprung out of bed, thrown open the window and shouted at those pesky internet-rumour-mongering kids that keep yelling about the Galaxy S3 at all hours of the night:

"Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012," bellowed Samsung in a brief memo to TechRadar.

"The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.

"Samsung stays committed to providing the best possible mobile experiences for customers around the world."

Whether or not this was dictated by a Samsung rep menacingly peeling an apple with an unnecessarily sharp knife while not blinking is unconfirmed.

THIS IS NOT REAL. Or it might be the Galaxy S4. Future, innit?

And don't worry your tech socks about Samsung announcing nothing at this year's flagship event: there's a Galaxy S2 Plus on the cards. With a slightly faster engine and the same Ice Cream Sandwich update that's coming to the original. Oh?

No, no THIS is the Fullest Full Monty

Now while we're panicking that nobody will release any mobiles in Barcelona this year (although we have got an alternative event that involves unicorns, a bucket of carrot soup and a job lot of unused Xperia Plays ready to go if GSMA would just FINALLY GIVE US THE NOD) there's something else that has caught our eye.

It's T-Mobile. Yes, the ones that do the awesome/excruciatingly lame adverts that are on the TV all the time (your opinion will be directly linked to your ability to tolerate, nay, enjoy Take Me Out) have only gone and invented new things that are completely new and amazing.

We're talking a new tariff, cheekily called the Full Monty (yes, like the naked people thing. Well, I never?) and offering reams of voice calls, texts and most importantly unlimited data for your mobile.

You mean proper unlimited? Yes.

Like no limits at all? Yes. No fair use policy? Nope.

But surely there's no tethering? Yep, allowed too. All unlimited.

But what abou?? Unlimited. No limits. We were one step away from branding it with some Dutch Eurodance stars from the '90s, it's that unlimited.

And we've been told this will revolutionise the future of the world of mobiles and tablets and the internet. Forever. Remember this day, and tell your children of it.

Except ? oh, wait, Three already did it with the One Plan. Sigh? revolutionary used to mean so much more in our day.

Other things

Things that we liked this week also include: Android coming to Sky Go. No, wait, the other way around.

Apple has run into the volcano lab with NFC and written its name all over it like it totally made it up itself you know. And it will probably be going to the iPhone 5 if loads of sources are to be believed.

And BAHAHAH the Nokia N8 HOHOHOHO is still alive and kicGUFFAWking after another Symbian updateNO PLEASE STOP, IT HURTS, was released to help it take on the WELL DONE I NEED NEW TROUSERS YOU'RE PAYING FOR THAT iPhone.

There was some other stuff too about patents that involved Apple but it's so mundane we're legally obliged to shoot ourselves if we write about it the same thing again.

Look at this

And tell us what you think on @TR_phones or @TR_tablets. Don't say we don't give you choice.

The art of seduction comes down to a single thing and that is body language. The result of using proper body language are getting a girl to accept intimacy or enticing her to become your girlfriend. How to attract women with only your body language is a true art and something that must be studied and learned before it can be put into action.

These are some of the outcomes your actions can have on the girl through the practice of seduction. Your body language guides the conversation, the 1st meet and greet and everything that comes after.

There are three things to think about when learning the art of seduction. The very first thing to learn is confidence. Presenting yourself as a confident person, should come as straightforward to you as breathing. It should be reflected in the way you walk, talk and conduct your life. Those that are not confident need to learn and do something to become confident.

The second thing you might want to learn in the art of seduction is how to engage with the girl. You should be able to take a seat with any female and be able to conduct a interesting conversation. You should be able to get her engaged in the conversation. The easiest way to do this is to ask her open-end questions that get her to engage you with her own views. This doesn't mean asking questions that has to do with politics and religion. It suggests asking questions that are entertaining and relevant to the environment you are in.

The final thing you need to learn is what to do with your body and the way to read her body movements to figure out the way in which the interaction or late eveing is going. Often times it is easy to discover if she would like to kiss you or sleep with you based totally on how she's responding to your movements and actions.

Little things to look out for are her sitting position. Is she sitting close to you? Is she moving her seat nearer to you with the excuse that she wants to hear you better? These are tiny signs that she doesn't want the conversation to finish or she doesn't want the evening to end.

You can take this a step further by testing her out. If she is already sitting closer to you or leaning into the conversation, then try this. Lean into her as you speak and watch what she does. Does she lean in too? If she is already leaning in, does she lean in closer? After you have her leaning in, lean back in your seat and sort of turn away from her.

After a couple of seconds turn back toward her with a smile and lean into the conversation. Did she lean back when you leaned back? Did she move her body into the conversation after you leaned back in? If she did not lean back then this is the best sign. If she leaned back into her seat, but moved towards you into the conversation after you leaned back in, then things are going in your favor. If she did not lean back into you at all, then you still have some work to do.

These are simply a tiny set of body language methods to read a woman and to also make her kiss you or sleep with you. Those that are the masters of the art of seduction have taken the time to implement and study them.

If you really want to get on your husband's good side, then cooking great meals for him will certainly help. You certainly wouldn't want to hear too many complaints about your cooking either way though. If you're a good cook, then that's one less area in which you have to compete with his mother. Being in this situation can really put your marriage onto the rocks. To combat this, you may even find yourself eating out much more often.

However, this isn't a long-term option. Over time, you will start regretting how much money you're spending on your meals. You can try a few different things if you're trying to increase your level of cooking ability. Keep reading to learn about some of them.

There are plenty of foods that you need to prepare using water. Using plain water to cook these foods won't help add any taste to it. Instead of using plain water to cook these foods, try using stock or broth instead.

You should definitely consider doing this when cooking rice. If you use stock to cook your rice, it will turn out to be much more tasty. You could even use wine to make some of your foods more flavorful.

Another trick you should consider using is to add acid to your food. The easiest way to add some acidity to your foods is to use lemon juice or vinegar. Doing this is a great alternative to adding more salt to make your foods tasty. Some people aren't allowed to eat salt for health concerns, so this is an excellent alternative.

When cooking, it is best that you not be afraid to use plenty of seasoning. Some type of seasoning is required in order to make the food taste good. Use plenty of salt and butter to add taste to your foods while making sure that you don't overdo it.

All sorts of ingredients are needed for making certain dishes. Make sure that you pay attention to the type of ingredients that you're using though. Using high-quality ingredients will help ensure that your foods turn out well.

Following recipes will really help you come up with new dishes to cook. Following a recipe will tell you everything that you need to do to make a dish properly. You shouldn't have a hard time finding new recipes. Simply hop online and look for websites that provide them for free. Investing in a recipe book may also be a good idea. Doc No. 34Sdlhgsdl -sds

Be careful what you wish for because it might come true. Have you heard that saying before? I have heard a different change that suggests a similar thing, but looks to have even more power: Be careful what you put down on paper. The tips on dating advice for men will show you the characteristics that seems to be powerful to girls.

Well, I say rather than taking care, as in being scared, carefully consider what you want to be like and put that down on paper. Words have power. Whether or not it is the words we use in our own heads to chat to ourselves (self talk); the words we use in talks with others; or the words we put down on paper, we should think thoroughly about what we are saying.

The power of putting words down on paper is a big benefit to blokes that are on the lookout for paths to brace their self-esteem in the dating arena.

Dating Advice For Men Tips:

1. Make a list of the features you either have and need to stress or the characteristics you are hoping to get.

As an example, your list might look like this:

Clean

High Integrity

Good Provider/Successful

Caring/Giving

Great Dresser

Flexible

Chivalrous/Romantic

Physically Fit/Healthy

Emotionally Mature

Smart/Perceptive

Assured/Cocky

Creative

A Leader

Self-Disciplined

Spontaneous/Bold

Growing

A Good Listener

Humorous. Every single guy out there on the single scene should take a while to start a list like this.

2. Remember that in the dating arena, you are the product and you are the sole sales rep. Glance at the dating world that way. Know why someone should have an interest in you. Keep your list of features in your wallet and review them often.

3. Have standards. You've got your list now of what makes you a catch. Understand that a girl who can't appreciate those qualities is the person that finally loses. Not you.

4. Research visualisation and confirmation strategies to fortify your self-esteem or help in treating it if you have some deeper issues. Every single one of us can gain advantage from a pride boost.

5. Set your limits and standards and stick to them. That implies drawing your lines in the sand. Work out what you will tolerate and won't put up with from folks. Stick to your guns. If you have this sort of code or behavior standard and expect others to measure up to it, they can respect that and do so. If they don't, they are not worth spending your time anyhow.

This way, if somebody mistreats you, they can either clean up their act or get started. It's up to them when they know your boundaries.

If you look back on some of these tips, you'll see there is a common theme running through them. It's actually about being the best man you can be. And although this is distinct to the dating world, ultimately these behaviors and tips will help you lead a more gratifying and fulfilling life over all.

HTC has developed a fix for a security bug that has seen some HTC Android phones leaving the Wi-Fi passwords of networks they are connected to vulnerable.

Yikes, we hear you cry, for the security glitch allows any Android app on that handset to call up the network's details and send usernames, passwords and SSID information to a remote server.

Some handsets won't be affected, but if you have an HTC Desire HD, HTC Droid Incredible, HTC Sensation, HTC Desire S or HTC Evo 3D you may want to investigate manually loading the fix.

Kwik fix

The company explains on its support site: "HTC has developed a fix for a small Wi-Fi issue affecting some HTC phones.

"Most phones have received this fix already through regular updates and upgrades.

"However, some phones will need to have the fix manually loaded. Please check back next week for more information about this fix and a manual download if you need to update your phone."

The security slip-up was first uncovered by researcher Chris Hessing as part of his work on network security for Cloudpath Networks.

Are there are good Iphone insurance policies or discreet cases that would protect from drops?

I decided to get an iphone after my current phone stopped working due to rain. It was a Audiovox Smt 5600 and it was a great phone and I'm surprised it worked as long as it did. It managed to survive many drops but I'm nervous the iphone might not be so resilient... So I was wondering if anyone could suggest some sort of insurance for the iphone. I found one from SquareTrade that seemed like a pretty good deal at first. It is only 10% of the purchase price to extend the warranty 3 years. However it is an additional 50 dollars for the Accidental Damage Protection and then another 50 dollars deductible if you have to use it. Do you think that would be worth it? Has anyone dealt with this company? Also, can anyone suggest a protective skin that might save it from a drop? Thanks!
